(the blogs with thumbnail navigation will not have this new archive, cause they already got a monthly archive)
- I've added a nofollow links on several places, this is to lead the search engines through the blogs without problems.
- The bottom navigation is smarter, it will no more lead to a page which doesn't have blog posts on it.

09-17-2006 22:53, Dollar sign bug fixed: We all know the dollar sign bug, when you type $1 the $1 just disappears. You had to use a space between the $ and the 1. That finally has been fixed from now on, now you can use $1 without any spaces or problems.

Most blog editors also have automatic uploading of images. This means that if you use a image in your blog post you don't have to upload it manually, the blog editor will take care of it. Most blog editors also have a nice speedy editor which you can use to write your blog posts.

09-02-2006 12:47, Thumblogger has been optimized again, please report strange things: In the last few weeks the use of thumblogger has literly exploded, you may have noticed that because of the problems that sometimes did arise. We moved a lot of non-thumblogger scripts of the thumblogger server to a new server, including the image hosting service of thumblogger: imageturtle.

I now has added a extra optimization to the thumblogger system which will hopefully make everything more responsive again, especially the control panel. You don't have to worry about the blogs, they were always very responsive and loaded quick, but the control panel was beginning to slow down a bit. Hopefully tis optimization solves this.

Please report any strange things you might see while using thumblogger.

For example: imagine a category with name 'Babes' and shortname 'babes', yesterday this category was represented by a number in the url. But from today the short name 'babes' will appear in the url. Search engines will love this new feature.
The old numbered urls will stay valid, so you won't lose any traffic.

10-13-2005 22:59, Specify location of thumbnail of gallery in log entry: When you added a log entry of type "gallery" the thumbnail of the gallery always appeared at the top of the message. It was possible to change this by messing with CSS, but it was not nice. Now if you add a log entry of type "gallery" a grey image will appear in the editor, this grey image will be replaced by the thumbnail of the gallery. You can do anything you like with the grey image, move it to the right of your text, move it to another place, your imagination is the limit.

[edit]There were major problems with the Blogger template if you used this new feature. It took me a couple hours to figure out why the problem did occur. It appeared to be the same problem blogger did have.
If you are using the Blogger template aligning a image could cause layout problems. You can still use a table for alignment.
10-11-2005 20:19, Optimalisations: Today i have been busy optimizing the whole thumblogger system, i've optimized the database and added a cache system that will cache certain frequently accessed pages. These changes are invisible to you as a blogger, but are quite important for the thumblogger system.

I've also limited the amount of allowed characters in a single log entry message to 10.000 characters. Please don't hesitate to post a comment if this worries you, i'm also not sure if this is a good number.

But it was kind of ugly, you could change the "no image" image but it still wasn't great. From now the subject of the text message is displayed. I think it's much better and much surfer friendly.

It appeared that when a new blog was created no standard warning template was defined (a empty warning page was the result). Everyone who had a empty warning page now has the standard warning page (the warning page will only be visible if you enable it)
09-29-2005 21:37, Good new for text only blogs: If you never use the post type "Gallery" and always use the post type "Text" than you have a text blog. If you have a text blog you will likely be happy with the new option:
"Log entries per page"
Now you can display 20 log entries per page. The only thing is when you select 20 you will only be able to post text log entries (log entries with post type "Text").

The default is still the old editor, you can change this in "Options" section > "Options" tab > "Add log entry form" part > "Log entry editor" option.

There is also a new editor which shouldn't be called a editor cause it's only a big textfield. But it may be handy for people who just want to enter raw HTML codes.

09-06-2005 18:22, Added date tags to RSS: The rss feed now has a lastBuildDate tag which shows a date when the feed was generated. I've also added pubDate tags to every item in the rss file.

These tags aren't yet included in your current rss file, you must first add a log entry to your blog. After you have done that the rss file will be generated within 15 minutes. (of course now the rss file includes the new tags).
09-05-2005 21:50, RSS feeds: I've just added a new box: the 'RSS box'. Within this box you can specify 3 url's to RSS feeds. The content of these RSS feeds will be displayed on your blog.
09-04-2005 14:27, Categorized box: I've just added a new box type: the 'Categorized box'. The content of this box changes when the visitor of your blog changes the current category. This could be handy for SEO, banners and links. For example you can display a Hardcore banner when the visitor selects the Hardcore category. The 'Categorized box' can be found at section 'Options' tab 'Boxes', don't forget the move the 'Categorized box' box to left or right.
09-04-2005 13:06, SEO + link sort: Two new field has been added to the 'add log entry' form:
- URL 'Title' tag text
- Image 'Alt' tag text
With these fields you can optimize your blog for search engines.
A new button has been added to the 'Links' tab, a button to sort the links in alphabetical order.

- Maximum length of url that is displayed in log entry
- Show two log entries in a row instead of one
- Show small thumbs instead of medium sized thumbs in the log entry
Also fixed a little HTML mistake in Bean and Classic templates.

09-01-2005 13:19, Message pages: If you now click on a topic link or a thumbnail you will directly go to the log entry page which includes the posted comments.
The blog url's are more searchengine friendly, now everything looks like a directory to the searchengine. Old urls are of course still valid.
08-31-2005 14:24, Website: I've redesigned the thumblogger website a bit, added a couple of screenshots and replace the javascript links with normal links.
In the backend all "thumblog" words are replaced by the word "blog" and the word "log item" is replaced by "log entry". These are more common terms.
I've removed the Dutch language support, it wasn't up to the standards so the backend became confusing if your choosen the Dutch language. Now i can concentrate more on the English language.
A small bug with the generation of RSS is fixed. I moved a couple of things arround in the backend, nothing big really.
08-30-2005 12:46, Email field: Visitor that want to post a comment on a adult blog can now also enter their email address. Of course this field is optional. When a registered user/webmaster posts a comment the setting 'show email' in the profile will be respected. This means if you disabled the option 'show email' in your profile your email address will not be shown with your comments.
08-29-2005 12:35, Message pages: I've introduced a new feature 'message pages'. Just try to add a comment on your blog and you will see what i mean. Simply said: every log entry now has it's own page which includes the log entry itself and the comments.

This can be handy when you only want to type a subject for a log entry.

Please go to Options > Strings tab and go to the field 'Comments, please enter # where..' and enter 'View comments, currently # comment(s)' (or anything you like, the # will be replaced with the number of comments).
The number of comments is refreshed every 5 minutes, this means that this value is not live.

08-16-2005 10:32, Technorati tags again: It seemed that i implemented "technorati tags" the wrong way. I've fixed it immediately. Now every adult blog at thumblogger uses the right "technorati tags" (if ofcourse enabled). You can read more about "technorati tags" on the support forum.
08-11-2005 09:48, New look: The control center of your blogs now has a new look/layout. It uses the available space far more efficient than the old look. This means you can have more content on your screen at once.

A little firefox bug (horizontal scrollbar) is also fixed. Hope you like it.

Some textboxes did become very small since last update. They are now at normal size. Thanks nicechicks!

You can define a "Technorati tags" when adding/editing a category. (see Blog tab > Categories tab).

06-23-2005 23:52, URL prefix: I've added a new option "URL prefix", the "URL prefix" text is put in front of the gallery url. It may be usefull if you want to track the clicks of your visitors with a third party script.

05-23-2005 12:26, Blog post template: All templates now have a new template: the blog post template. The Blog post template also has a wizard which allows you to enable/disable certain parts of a blog post (for example the date or the vote function).

05-21-2005 12:10, Change HTML: Now you can change the HTML of your thumblog. Before this update it was also possible to change the HTML, but at that time template codes were scattered through the HTML, this means the HTML was not clean it contained codes that the wizards use. But now you can convert the template HTML to normal HTML without the template codes.
Please go to Look tab > Template tab > and click one of the links in HTML part.

- You can now specify multiple standard subjects and messages (separated by a pipe | character). The system will choose a subject/message at random.
- ThumbLoggerClient has been changed. Added new option "Don't show message when upload succeeds". A subject/message is not required anymore, when no subject/message is specified the standard subject/message is used.

04-21-2005 21:39, New thumblog layout: Every thumblog now has a new layout which seems more similar to normal blogs. The last 10 added blogs are showed on one page. Visitors can navigate through pages with the next/prev/home links under each page and under/above the little thumbnails section on the top left of each page.
The message part has also changed a bit, i've added a couple of icons so that sections are more clearer.
The vote part of a thumblog is now far more easier to use and understand.

The Queue function is still in beta stage, but seems to be functioning properly.

Please double check if the fields "Background color of vote part" and "Foreground color of vote part" on the Options tab are still correct on your thumblog.
